Safety Camp

Safety Camp: A day dedicated to snow safety

Safety Camp is a unique event dedicated to mountain safety during the winter season. This training day focuses on avalanche rescue and the correct behaviour to adopt off-piste, and is aimed at freeriders, ski mountaineers, hikers and anyone who enjoys experiencing the mountains in winter.

Who is Safety Camp designed for?

The course is open to everyone, including children and young people from ski clubs or casual skiers. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the Safety Camp offers two levels of training to ensure an educational experience tailored to your skills:

  • Level 1: for those approaching snow safety for the first time.
  • Level 2: dedicated to those who have already attended a basic course and wish to deepen their knowledge.
    Topics covered during the course
During the Safety Camp, participants will learn how to:
  • Plan an off-piste excursion: tools and techniques to organise safely.
  • Reduce the risk of avalanches: identify dangers and adopt preventive strategies.
  • Use self-rescue equipment: Beacon, shovel and probe.
  • Simulate a rescue operation: practical exercise to deal with emergency situations.
Why participate in Safety Camp?

Attending Safety Camp means investing in your own safety and that of the group with whom you share the mountain experience. Knowing how to behave in the event of an avalanche can make the difference between saving a life and losing precious time: the first stages of intervention are decisive for the success of the rescue. Learning how to use beacon, shovel and probe correctly and act quickly can mean saving your friends or fellow hikers. This is not just a course, but the acquisition of skills that can prove indispensable in critical situations.
